In addition to the traditional two-year MBA program, Babson College also offers a one-year option for those with substantial prior academic business knowledge. Since 1990, the accelerated curriculum and modular format of the summer semester have provided qualified students with the opportunity to earn an MBA degree in just three semesters of full-time study. Candidates working in the Boston area may complete the summer modules full-time, return to work in September, and finish the remainder of the program on a part-time basis over two years. The Babson admissions office ranks your work experience as most important, and then, in descending order, the interview (required), GMAT scores, college GPA, essays, letters of recommendation, and extracurricular activities. The school writes: “At Babson, we consider each candidate as an individual and look at the entire package, not simply at test scores and GPAs. Accordingly, we require an interview. This personal approach provides both Babson and our candidates an opportunity to determine whether there is a “fit” within the Babson community. we look for goal-oriented individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit, a global mindset, and an ability to grapple with the ambiguities of managing change in a dynamic business world. For the one-year program, applicants must have an undergraduate degree in business administration. Babson batches applications by rounds.
