PROGRAM AVAILABLE
Of the Top 25 MBA programs in the country, Goizueta Business School is one of a handful that offers a One-Year MBA Program in addition to the more traditional Two-Year MBA Program. The format is particularly suited for those who have a finely tuned professional and academic focus or for those who are eager to re-enter the workforce quickly. Our curriculum lasts for three semesters and packs the coursework into a 12-month time span, running from May to May, with an intensive summer semester.
The One-Year MBA is specifically for students who have earned an undergraduate degree in business or, depending on the university attended and the coursework completed, in economics. In addition, applicants with strong quantitative backgrounds (such as engineering or math majors) who possess solid business experience may also qualify for admission, as determined on a case-by-case basis. In some instances, additional business coursework may be necessary to be considered for this program.

ADMISSION CRITERIA
According to the admissions office, your work experience is considered most important. After that, in descending order, your GMAT scores, interview, essays, college GPA, extracurricular activities, and letters of recommendation are considered. Notes the school, “Interviews are strongly encouraged. Candidates are also encouraged to visit a class with one of our current students.” Emory requires that applicants have completed one semester of college calculus and be computer literate. Decisions are made on a rolling admissions basis. The school may allow applicants to defer admission for up to two years; this is decided on a case-by-case basis.
COST AND FINANCIAL AID
Goizueta offers a long list of scholarships and various loan programs for qualified entering students. Every applicant who submits a completed application by the February 15 deadline is automatically reviewed for merit-based school-funded scholarships. No separate application is required, and most merit-based scholarships range from 20% to full tuition. The three most prestigious are the Woodruff Fellowships, Goizueta Scholarships and the Dean’s Scholar Awards, all of which provide full tuition plus a stipend for both years of study. There are also many loan programs available, including the Stafford Subsidized and Unsubsidized Federal Loan Programs and the Emory Student Loan Program.
