ADMISSION CRITERIA
The Admission Committee looks at each applicant holistically, evaluating your academic performance, work experience, GMAT score, leadership qualities, and extracurricular activities. Work experience is preferred for all programs and required for the one-year MBA program. According to the admissions department, your work experience/resume and GMAT score are weighted most heavily. Then, in descending order, your college GPA, “a personal statement reflecting on maturity, strength of purpose, academic potential, and ability to communicate clearly”; letters of recommendation; extracurricular activities; and the interview. Applications are reviewed in rounds.

ESSAY QUESTIONS
1. Why are you pursuing an MBA / MIB degree at this time in your life? What characteristics about Pepperdine’s program made you decide to apply to Pepperdine specifically? What expectations do you have of Pepperdine’s MBA / MIB program?
2. How will your work and extracurricular background contribute to your own learning in the program and to the learning experiences of your classmates? What would you contribute to the small group interactive learning environment of this program? What characteristics differentiate you from other applicants to this program?
3. Describe a situation or learning experience that significantly changed your current goals or outlook on life. When describing the situation, include the actions you took and the results of those actions and describe how they led to changing your goals or outlook on your career choices.
4. Develop a strategic five-year career plan for yourself. Please be specific with your career goals, how you plan to achieve them, and how a degree from Pepperdine fits into your plans. Include a year-by-year self-marketing plan.

In addition, please describe any international experiences you have had. Indicate countries in which you have lived, worked, and traveled and the nature and duration of your experience.
