ADMISSION CRITERIA
According to the admissions office, your GMAT score, work experience, and college GPA are considered most important, and then, in descending order, your interview, essays, and letters of recommendation. They note, “Interviews are strongly encouraged and considered on a part with work experience.” Applications are handled on a rolling admissions basis. It generally takes two to six weeks “depending on the backlog” for a student to be notified of a decision after receiving the completed application. Students may defer admissions for up to one year for personal reasons.

COST AND FINANCIAL AID
The Smeal MBA Program offers merit-based scholarship, fellowship and graduate assistantship aid to incoming MBA students each year. All applicants are automatically considered for scholarship and assistantship funding. Scholarships range between $1,000 and $15,000 per year. Each year, 15 MBA students will be selected as Mitte Fellows, which carries a $5,000 award. Quarter- and half-time graduate assistantships are also available for a few first-year MBA students. Graduate assistantships provide a full tuition waiver (both quarter- and half-time), subsidized health care coverage and a monthly stipend of between $500 and $1,000.
